How we handle the little information that reaches us, and the rights you keep over it, wherever in the world you are sitting.
This website is operated by Le Vrai Traditionnel, a family-owned restaurant at Rue Bab Doukkala, Marrakech 40030, Morocco ("we", "us", "our"). The restaurant has served Moroccan cuisine since 1946 and is currently operated by the Moulay Driss family.

This policy applies to the website levraitraditionnel.com (the "Site") and to any interaction you have with us directly, by email, telephone, WhatsApp, or in person at the restaurant. It does not cover the practices of third-party platforms we link to or embed, each of which is governed by its own privacy policy. We summarise those services in section 4.
The Site is a static website. We do not operate forms, accounts, logins, or payment flows on our own servers. The information that reaches us therefore falls into three narrow categories:
If you email us, call us, or message us on WhatsApp, you share whatever content you choose to put in that message (typically a name, a contact address, the date and size of a reservation, and any dietary notes). We process this only to respond to you.
Our booking page embeds a widget operated by Eat-Now (book.eat-now.io). When you complete a reservation through that widget, you interact directly with Eat-Now; the information you submit (name, phone, email, party size, date, time, notes) is processed by Eat-Now as an independent controller or as our processor, and is passed to us to confirm and host your booking. Please consult Eat-Now's own privacy notice for their full disclosure.
Our host (Netlify or Vercel, depending on the deploy environment) records standard HTTP access logs on our behalf, including IP address, user agent, timestamp, and the page requested. These logs are used for security, uptime, and anti-abuse monitoring, and are typically retained by the host for 30 days. We do not correlate them with any identity.
When you load a page, your browser makes direct requests to the following third parties. Each of them sees at minimum your IP address and the URL referrer. We receive no information from those requests; the data relationship is between you and them.

External links to Instagram, TripAdvisor, WhatsApp, and Google Maps are opened in a new tab; once you click them you leave our Site and enter services governed by those operators.
We do not set cookies. The Site contains no analytics, no advertising pixels, no tag managers, and no first-party cookies.
Third parties embedded as described above, most notably the Google Maps iframe and the reservation widget, may set their own cookies or use local storage inside their own frames. Those cookies are placed by those third parties under their own policies; we cannot read them, and you can block them in your browser settings without breaking the core Site.

Our servers and some of the third parties listed in section 4 operate outside Morocco. When you load the Site from within the European Economic Area, data about your request (IP address, browser) may be routed to servers located elsewhere, typically in the European Union or the United States.
We rely on the standard transfer safeguards published by those providers, including Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent mechanisms recognised by the European Commission and by the CNDP. A copy of the relevant safeguards can be requested at the contact address below.
The Site is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
The Site is served exclusively over HTTPS, with HSTS preloading and a strict Content Security Policy. All third-party scripts are pinned with Subresource Integrity hashes. We do not collect payment data on our own infrastructure. Despite these measures, no transmission over the internet or storage on electronic systems can be guaranteed perfectly secure, we commit to using reasonable, industry-standard measures proportionate to the sensitivity of the data we handle.
We may update this policy when our practices change or when the law requires. The "Effective date" at the top will always reflect the latest version. Material changes will be highlighted prominently on the Site for a reasonable period before taking effect.
